Pool Day With Sean

Sean and I used to go to a pool near my old house every summer (I used to take Tashena to this pool when she was younger, too).  We haven't gone there since I moved but this year Sean mentioned that he wanted to go back.  We were able to go yesterday and it was so much fun.  When we got there Sean was a little bit tentative so I told him that we could do something else if he wasn't having any fun.  Luckily he was able to make a few friends which meant that I could sit poolside and read my book!  Every time I looked over at him he had a big smile on his face.  It was perfect because it wasn't too hot and it wasn't too crowded.

Note:  The first time I took Sean to this pool, he wanted me to buy him some snacks.  The food isn't that great so I convinced him to wait and I would take him to lunch.  There is a Sonic right by the pool and we ate lunch there.  Now it is tradition to get a Sonic shake every time we go to this pool.

Summer Ritual

It seems like summer doesn't officially start for me until I spend a day at the pool.  It is a summer tradition that started with Tashena and now continues with Sean.  Yesterday Sean and I spent five hours at our favorite pool at the Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center and we both had so much fun (even though Sean had a bloody nose and I am now sunburned)!

My Summer Sidekick

During the summer Sean and I usually spend a lot of time at the pool.  Last summer it was so hot that we ended up there just about every day!  This year we have only gone once!  Since I am trying to squeeze as much fun as possible out of the last few days of summer vacation, I decided that we needed a pool day on Thursday.  A friend of mine was there with her kids (who are great friends with Sean) so it was a lot of fun!
I sure do love this kid and I love that I get to spend so much time with him!

A Day at the Pool

Yesterday I was on aunt detail so, of course, Sean and I spent the day at the pool.  It was really nice because it wasn't too crowded and it wasn't too hot.  Last year Sean and I spent a lot of time at the pool because it was so blasted hot!  Sean even found some friends that he had made last year!  I basically sat pool side reading a fantastic biography of Jane Austen.
It was a lot of fun!  After spending the day at the pool, we spent the evening seeing a double feature at the drive-in.  First we saw How to Train Your Dragon 2, which I thought was pretty cute (even though I hadn't seen the first one), and then we saw Maleficent, which I liked even more the second time.  Sean made it about halfway through Maleficent before falling asleep!  I remember going to the drive-in with my parents when I was a kid.  I always tried so hard to make it through the second feature but I rarely did.  To this day, I don't know how Murder By Death ends!
